NĀWI is a specialty coffee roaster based in Almada, Portugal found by César and Karina, a Salvadoran couple.
Connected to coffee farms across the world. We believe that every cup carries a story: of a place, a farmer, a harvest, and a craft. Our work is to honour that story, from the moment a cherry is picked to the moment it reaches your hands.
Our Name
NĀWI draws from the ancient Nahuatl word for four a number that resonates across cultures as a symbol of balance, direction, and wholeness. For us, it reflects the four pillars that guide everything we do: origin, craft, community, and cup. These are not just values — they are the compass we roast by.
Our Roasting Philosophy
We roast in small batches, with intention. Each coffee we select has earned its place on our roster chosen for its traceability, its terroir, and the care of the people who grew it. We roast to reveal, not to mask: our goal is always to bring out the natural character of each origin, whether that's the bright citrus of an Ethiopian natural or the deep, structured sweetness of a Guatemalan washed lot.
We don't chase trends. We chase quality and we take the time to get it right.

Behind every bag of NĀWI coffee is a farm, a family, and a community. We work with producers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability from the highlands of Ethiopia and Kenya to the volcanic soils of El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. We visit, we listen, and we build relationships that go beyond a transaction.

We are based in Almada, just across the river from Lisbon. A city with a deep maritime history and a growing culture of craft and curiosity.
